The objectives of the study were to quantify the performance of the VOD2LFMC dataset in reproducing field observations of LFMC under drought conditions and to analyse the correlation of VOD2LFMC with precipitation anomalies and soil moisture. This analysis and visualizations were created using R (dplyr, tidyr, sf, tmap and ggplot2) for Remote Sensing group at TUD and Dresden Concept, 2023.
Two questions had to be answered:
How well VOD2LFMC represent field measurements of LFMC, especially under drought conditions?
What is the relationship of LFMC with soil moisture and precipitation anomalies (SPI-12)?
